Post 5019 is please to announce that we will be holding two essay contests for the 2025-2026 school year. The contests are open to all Bedford County Students in grades 6-8 and 9-12. The theme this year is "How are you showing Patriotism and Support for our Country?" The deadline for entry in both essay contests is midnight 31 October 2025. 

 

The Patriot's Pen Essay contest is for students in grades 6-8.

 

The Voice of Democracy Essay contest is for students in grades 9-12. 

 

Winners of the Post 5019 contests will be recognized at our Veteran's Day Banquet in November and essay will be forwarded to District 5 to be judged against students from across middle Tennessee. The winners of the District level competition will be forwarded to the Department of Tennessee to be judged against students from across Tennessee. The winners from Tennessee will compete at the National Level for a chance at winning scholarships.
