WELCOME TO POST 5019 SHELBYVILLE

Teamwork ~ Leadership ~ Commitment
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Commander's Corner

Commander Tommie Boleyn

I want to thank all the folks who came out for the August Breakfast! We had an amazing turnout and saw a whole bunch of new faces, thank you all. This thing just keeps getting bigger and better, and the food is pretty good!

This Post is blessed with members who believe in each other and believe in our mission, "Serving our Bedford County Veterans and their families" and they literally do that each month during our breakfast event.

If you're a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism, thank you for your sacrifice for this Nation. Please come check us out and consider becoming an active member of this Post, we need you and frankly, you need us.

Finally, I want to thank the members of our VFW Memorial Post 5019 Auxiliary! We are better because of their dedication, assistance, and support! If you are the spouse or immediate family member of a Combat Veteran, please come support our Auxiliary.

Don't forget about our monthly music night, this Saturday night from 6-9pm at the Post. Cost is $3 at the door, bring a covered dish for potluck, and hear some of the best traditional country and blue grass music you will ever experience.
